Taking an Assessment for DBT in Oxford

Before you can start a new treatment programme, you need to be assessed by one of our experienced therapists. You can book an online assessment at any time: once we receive your booking request we should be able to arrange for your assessment within 24 hours, assuming it is convenient for you. If we feel that DBT is a suitable choice for your condition, you can have your assessment fee credited against any future treatment invoices.

What a Course of DBT in Oxford Comprises

We offer courses for adults as well as courses for adolescents. These courses are delivered separately as the mode of treatment differs slightly for younger patients. Whether you are an adolescent or an adult with BPD, the course you take will cover all 4 core DBT modules. You will also have access to various other support options whilst attending weekly group treatment sessions:

  • Crisis Coaching – In between your weekly Zoom sessions, you will be able to contact a qualified therapist in the event you encounter a crisis in your life. You can talk the matter through with your therapist, who will guide you on how to use the skills you have learned to stay in control.
  • Peer-Led WhatsApp Group – It can be very helpful to talk about your treatment and the skills you are learning with others who are receiving DBT in Oxford or elsewhere in the UK. You will have the opportunity to do this in our WhatsApp DBT Group.
  • Family Support Group – We also have an online family support group, in which family members can discover how best to help you while you are completing your therapy course.
