Once a booking has been requested, we are normally able to arrange an assessment within 24 hours. The purpose of the assessment is to analyse your symptoms and determine whether you are suffering from BPD. In addition to confirming your diagnosis, we will also use the information we gather in the assessment to help us select the right treatment option for you. In the majority of cases, therapy will be provided via Zoom in small group sessions.

DBT Group Sessions

 

Held every week at the same time, our Zoom therapy sessions are conducted by a fully qualified counsellor or therapist who has experience in treating BPD sufferers. We have found that small groups are the best setting in which to learn the new skills you need to control your thoughts, emotions and feelings. If you do not feel able to participate in group sessions, we do offer individual sessions too. However, we strongly recommend trying group therapy first as it is normally the most effective treatment option.

All of our DBT programmes are based on the 4 core DBT modules and cover each one in full. In addition to the weekly skills groups, during which new coping skills from these modules are taught, all patients have access to our DBT Crisis Survival Kit. Practically speaking, this means you can connect with a qualified therapist if you are ever faced with an emotional crisis in your life that you cannot handle alone.

I have completed 2 modules of the DBT programme so far and I can honestly say it has honestly changed my life. I am not a stranger to therapy. 2 years ago I started general psychotherapy following the birth of my 4th child as I developed what I thought was PND. I also had a volatile relationship. Because of my personal circumstances, things progressively got worse. When I started the DBT programme I was lost, angry, hopeless and saw this as my last chance to solve some crisis of mine. 2 modules in, I feel refreshed and optimistic. I understand myself more and get boundaries. I am more productive and for the first time in a long while I can actually say I am happy. I was feeling insecure, anxious and depressed. I have joined the DBT sessions. I found it so helpful and effective. Before DBT, l wasn’t aware of the skills. I've been working on my DBT skills with Jason for the past 9 months. In that time I have learnt enough repair damaged relationships with family, to begin to curb my unhealthy 'problem behaviours' and to start to build back up my self esteem and work on treating myself with kindness and compassion.
