Taking a Course of DBT Therapy in Brighton

 

Because our DBT courses happen online, in weekly Zoom groups, it doesn’t matter whereabouts in Brighton you live. You can access treatment from your home, workplace or any other location where you have access to a reliable Internet connection. Each course for adults lasts 30 weeks in total but is split into the 4 core DBT modules. To make it easier for patients to pay for their treatment, we offer you the option of being invoiced for each module separately. Once you finish a module, you will be invoiced in advance for the next one. The price of treatment includes not just the weekly skills group sessions but also a variety of support groups, including a 10-week aftercare group that meets on a weekly basis.

  • WhatsApp Group – This is a group led by peers, in which you can talk about your condition and the skills you have learned so far.
  • 1-2-1 Crisis Survival Coaching – If you have difficulty in applying the skills you are learning and feel like you cannot cope, you are welcome to call and speak with a qualified therapist in between your weekly group sessions.
  • DBT Family Group – This group provides a space where family and partners can learn how best to support you during your treatment programme.
  • Aftercare Group – If you’d appreciate more help to integrate the new skills you learn into your daily life, you can attend weekly aftercare meetings online for 10 weeks after completing your DBT therapy in Brighton.

I have completed 2 modules of the DBT programme so far and I can honestly say it has honestly changed my life. I am not a stranger to therapy. 2 years ago I started general psychotherapy following the birth of my 4th child as I developed what I thought was PND. I also had a volatile relationship. Because of my personal circumstances, things progressively got worse. When I started the DBT programme I was lost, angry, hopeless and saw this as my last chance to solve some crisis of mine. 2 modules in, I feel refreshed and optimistic. I was feeling insecure, anxious and depressed. I have joined the DBT sessions. I found it so helpful and effective. Before DBT, l wasn’t aware of the skills. I've been working on my DBT skills with Jason for the past 9 months. In that time I have learnt enough repair damaged relationships with family, to begin to curb my unhealthy 'problem behaviours' and to start to build back up my self esteem and work on treating myself with kindness and compassion.
